Fishing While Camping

If you like the dynamic duo, fishing and camping, you may be planning a trip right now. For many avid campers the word fishing can't be far away. Whether you camp on a lake or the river or even near the ocean, fishing may be your first priority after the camp is set up. Assuming you are an avid camper and fisherman you already know what equipment and supplies you need to take on your trip. Nothing can ruin a fishing/camping trip quicker than a forgotten rod and reel or a sleeping bag.

Fishing and camping can be done alone or with friends or family. Remember when fishing with a child their attention span can be very short. If they are not catching fish they may get bored. It may be best to wait until the child is a bit older. However if they have been fortunate to catch a fish early on, they may not want to wait to go fishing again.

If you plan on cooking your catch, you will be sure to take all the equipment to accomplish that fete. Be sure to take enough other food in case you don't catch a fish. The final enjoyment of a camping/fishing trip is eating your catch. Be sure to take care of your campsite and fire, either bury your waste or be sure to take it home with you when you leave the area. If you are wilderness fishing you will want to go to an area that has the best fishing for the species you want to catch.
